Why?
As student needs grow, funding to Texas Schools decreases. Taxpayers are making every effort to
provide quality education, and basic needs are being provided for all children in our state. But what about those special needs
that may be going unmet? Teachers have innovative ideas and projects that cannot always be funded through school resources.
Scholarships and special projects are also areas where extra help is needed.
How?
The Henderson ISD Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization established in 1998 to create
support for the academic programs of HISD. The Foundation will provide funds beyond the normal operating budget for educational
programs and activities for students and staff. These funds are not available through tax revenues. Foundation funds will be used
to support student achievment and skill development, recognize and encourage staff excellence, and expand community involvement
from individuals, businesses, and civic organizatons.
