Activity 14 - The HISD volunteer program known as STARS encourages parents and community members to become involved in the district. Activities by volunteers include storytelling, classroom assistant, tutoring, mentoring, and student monitoring. Volunteers undergo a criminal history check, including fingerprinting, and orientation before working in the district.
